Meiknologic offers solutions all around access control systems and lock security. Since 1998 Meiknologic used the iButton ® from Dallas Semiconductor as an identification key for locks and access control systems. The experience acquired up to date and the market knowledge Meiknlogic comes to a modular system to build complete solutions. For the individual requirements of the customer, solutions are compiled and realized specifically
The iButton ® is a memory chip which is accommodated in a round high-grade steel housing (d=16mm), like a button battery. He has only two electric contacts: ground and data. About the data connection the power supply is also realized. To pursue this one-wire-bus effectively and certainly, the manufacturer Dallas Semiconductor has developed a protocol such a named Micro-LAN. Each iButton ® has a 64 bits long unique ROM number. This uniqueness for all iButtons ® is guaranteed by the manufacturer and makes it possible to address to each iButton as an absolute unique specimen. The number supply amounts 248, also more than to 1 quintillion. In contrast to solutions used up to now not the lock is unique, because the intelligence lies in the key. Each iButton ® is accredited for the individual locks. Instead of a lot of key only one key is necessary - a unique specimen
The mechanical robustness, the simple contact unit and the fact that the ROM number can be copied only with very high technical expenditure, does iButton ® makes to an optimal identification key for access control systems and electronic locks. In addition to the standard iButton ® which contains only 64 bits ROM number there is a big choice from iButton ® which contain, in addition, free storage areas (up to 64k) or a timer.
